I’m Jenny, a human-centered design research specialist. With two designers in my family, I was raised in a household where design thinking was the modus operandi.  I grew up tinkering in Photoshop on the family computer and sketching with my colored pencils in equal parts.  As a child, I moved to Germany, and starting school in a foreign country sparked in me both an innate curiosity and deep love for language and culture. 

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in French, I accepted an internship at T3 in social media strategy.  Working in social media allowed me to keep my finger on the pulse of what users were saying and gave me a unique insight into how users think.  This made me want to go one step further to create solutions to the problems I was seeing, so I chose to continue my education in experience design and research with a focus on qualitative methodologies.

My relentless curiosity and passion for the intersection of technology and humanity are what led me to embark on my design journey. What drives user behavior?  What makes people tick?  These are the questions that inspire and orient me throughout the research process.  I love finding new ways to validate my design recommendations with a robust blend of qualitative and quantitative research. The intersection of research, user experience, marketing, and business is where I feel I excel. I believe a properly executed product design should translate into economic value for your business.

Throughout my research career, I have led over 400 research projects for “Big Four” consulting firms and industry leaders that have spanned technology, education, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, and financial sectors.  My expertise includes designing research plans to fit each client's needs and timeline, leveraging cross-sectional surveys, digital diaries/video journaling, moderated in-depth interviews, shop-alongs, intercepts and concept testing. I believe my strengths lie in creating meaningful connections with research participants and clients alike, and in highlighting the voice of the customer through powerful tools such as persona creation, journey mapping and the creation of boardroom-ready video deliverables and presentations.
